Ok first, when I say this is the best apple pear sauce ever, I mean it. I am actually surprised how delicious this recipe ended up tasting.
No refined sugar, only the natural sweeteners offered by plants!
I don’t peal the fruits because I don’t think it is necessary (and I’m a little lazy?). Moreover, the skin is full of vitamins! A high speed blender will blend it up entirely and you shouldn’t have any skin pieces in your sauce. However, if you don’t have a high speed blender, you may wanna peel your fruits.
Prep time: 10 minutes – Cook time: 15 minutes – Yield: 10 servings
Ingredients:
- 6 apples
- 3 pears
- 3 dates
- 5g of stevia (optional)
- 1/4 lemon
- 5g of cinnamon
- 5ml of vanilla
- 300ml of water
Instructions:
- Bring the 300ml of water to a boil into a large saucepan
- Meanwhile, wash and cut in medium pieces the apples and pears
- Add the apples and pears to the boiling water
- Let cook for 5 minutes with a lid on
- Meanwhile, pit the dates and cut them in small pieces
- Add the dates, cinnamon, vanilla, and stevia to the saucepan
- Press 1/4 of lemon and add the juice to the saucepan
- Let cook for 10 more minutes with a lid on
- Put the mixture into a high speed blender (or blend with a hand-mixer)
- Blend until smooth
- Transfer the sauce into a recipient and let cool for at least 1 hour
- Store in a fridge for up to 2 weeks
