My name is Marlene Mamia I have been living in Scotland since 2017, where I completed a BA (Hons) in Business and HRM. Although I communicate mostly in English on this channel, I am French and grew up in the South of France for the first 17 years of my life.

I am passionate about writing, management, photography, videography, playing the piano, performing in sports, and spending time in the kitchen to cook delicious vegan food.

I first went vegetarian after taking a gap year in the United States in 2016. At this point, I was recovering from eating disorders and feeling very insecure in my body and mind. I was uncomfortable with an animal-based diet and decided to change things when becoming more conscious about my health, the animals, and the environment.

I always loved being behind the counter and I used to bake a lot as a kid. But rediscovering cooking on a plant-based diet was a whole new bliss and excitement. I was feeling better than ever, physically and mentally, on a cruelty-free diet.

Since then I have never stopped cooking. I created TheDorkyFrench in 2018 and I am always learning more about sharing inspiring content and recipes for my lovely audience.
