My name is Marlene Mamia, a little Frenchie currently living in the South of Scotland. I am passionate about vegan food, Crossfit, piano, photography, and painting.

And fun fact, I also am a private French and piano tutor in Scotland! I created a free beginner course on youtube where I teach French through video tutorials. Here is the link in case you happen to be interested in learning French or if you know someone who would be!

I first went vegetarian after taking a gap year in the United States in 2016. At this point, I was recovering from eating disorders and feeling very insecure in my own body and mind. I was uncomfortable with an animal based diet and decided to change things when becoming more conscious about my health, the animals, and the environment.

I always loved being behind the counter and I used to bake a lot as a kid. But rediscovering cooking on a plant based diet was a whole new bliss and excitement. I was feeling better than ever, physically and mentally, on a cruelty-free diet.

Since then I have never stopped cooking. I created TheDorkyFrench in 2017 and I am always learning more about creating delicious recipes for you.
