the best apple and pear sauce

The Best Apple Pear Sauce (quick + sugar-free)

Ok first, when I say this is the best apple pear sauce ever, I mean it. I am actually surprised how delicious this recipe ended up tasting.

No refined sugar, only the natural sweeteners offered by plants!

I don’t peal the fruits because I don’t think it is necessary (and I’m a little lazy?). Moreover, the skin is full of vitamins! A high speed blender will blend it up entirely and you shouldn’t have any skin pieces in your sauce. However, if you don’t have a high speed blender, you may wanna peel your fruits.

Prep time: 10 minutes –     Cook time: 15 minutes –     Yield: 10 servings

  • 6 apples
  • 3 pears
  • 3 dates
  • 5g of stevia (optional)
  • 1/4 lemon
  • 5g of cinnamon
  • 5ml of vanilla
  • 300ml of water

  1. Bring the 300ml of water to a boil into a large saucepan
  2. Meanwhile, wash and cut in medium pieces the apples and pears
  3. Add the apples and pears to the boiling water
  4. Let cook for 5 minutes with a lid on
  5. Meanwhile, pit the dates and cut them in small pieces
  6. Add the dates, cinnamon, vanilla, and stevia to the saucepan
  7. Press 1/4 of lemon and add the juice to the saucepan
  8. Let cook for 10 more minutes with a lid on
  9. Put the mixture into a high speed blender (or blend with a hand-mixer)
  10. Blend until smooth
  11. Transfer the sauce into a recipient and let cool for at least 1 hour
  12. Store in a fridge for up to 2 weeks
