Can you freeze croissants?
Can you freeze our pastries and viennoiseries to save them for a special day? Absolutely! Let us guide you through a simple step-by-step on how to freeze and thaw the pastries.
Oui! You can freeze our pastries for an extended period of time without compromising too much on their flavour or texture.
Do the viennoiseries loose quality when freezing?
It is always best to enjoy the croissants fresh the same morning they are made for peak quality and experience.
To minimise loss in quality, freeze the pastries as soon as possible to capture their freshness until you are ready to savour them.
Collect them ideally in the morning from the bakery at 39 Parnie Street, G15RJ, Glasgow, United Kingdom. And freeze when you get home.
How to freeze croissants?
The pastries need to be handled with care so they don’t get flattened. And they each need to be frozen airtight, then placed in a box (you can use the recyclable box we give you when you collect your pre-order. Seal the croissants individually in ziplock airtight bags. Cling film is an option, or eco-friendly wrap alternatives such as vegan food wrap.
For how long can you freeze croissants?
We recommend no longer than a month (if you can resist keeping them in your freezer for that long!)
How to thaw viennoiseries?
When you are ready to eat your pastries / on Christmas morning:
Option 1 - Ideally, transfer the box of pastries the night before from the freezer to the fridge to allow them to thaw completely overnight. Then unwrap the croissants, preheat your oven/ airfryer to 180.C and heat up the pastries for 3 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes before eating.
Option 2 - If you don’t thaw overnight, heat up your oven / air fryer to 150.C and bake for 9-10 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes before eating.
Remember to pre-order before Tuesdays 6pm for same week collection. Collection days are Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during opening hours.
